Siniora, whose term in office has been dominated by a standoff with the Hezbollah-led opposition, said today in an exclusive interview with AFP that he will step down with a clear conscience and is ready to turn the page. Under the constitution, the government is obliged to resign in order for the new president, in this case Michel Sleiman who is expected to be elected tomorrow, to appoint a new prime minister, so Siniora will head a caretaker government until that happens. أبرق الرئيس فؤاد السنيورة الى رئيس الحكومة الليبية عبدالحميد الدبيبة، معزيا بضحايا الفيضان المائي الذي ضرب مدينة درنة. حيث قال السنيورة في برقيته: “ان ما حل ببلدكم ومدينتكم لحدث يدمي ويفجع القلوب ونحن من موقعنا نتضرع الى الله ان يتغمد الضحايا برحمته ويكون الى جانبكم وجانب الشعب الليبي في هذا المصاب الاليم والجلل”.
